'Hit-and-run' death man named A man from Oxfordshire who died following an alleged hit-and-run incident in north-west of England has been named. Lewis Myrddin Davies died after being hit by a car in the Stretton area of Warrington on Tuesday evening. The 69-year-old was from the Cumnor Hill area of Oxford. A 19-year-old man from Warrington who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.. Call received Police were called to Stretton Road, Warrington, on Tuesday evening, after reports that a vehicle had collided with a pedestrian. Mr Davies was taken to Warrington General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The vehicle failed to stop and made off in the general direction of the Appleton area. A Volkswagen Golf was seized after the incident and a 19-year-old man from Warrington was arrested. |
